MATH 441 (Spring 2026): Differential Equations

Class information

  • Time and location: MWF 01:00PM – 01:50PM, 106B8 Engineering Hall.
  • Office hours: Wednesdays/Fridays from 1:50-2:30PM, immediately after class in the classroom, and by appointment.

  • My old handwritten notes for ordinary differential equations, which I taught at Brown University in Summer 2019, are available here. The lectures will loosely follow these notes, with modifications here and there. Use at your own risk. If you are a lecturer or professor and wish to use my notes for your course, please email me (see contact information on my main page) to let me know and give due credit.

Homework

  • Homework 0. This homework will not be graded or collected. Its purpose is to help you review the elements of calculus you need to know to do well in MATH 441.
  • Homework 1. Due Wednesday, February 11, by 5:00 PM.
  • Homework 2. Due in class on Wednesday, February 25, at 1:00 PM.

In-class quizzes

  • The mock in-class quiz will take place on February 20. It is optional and meant to help you prepare for future in-class quizzes.
  • In-class quiz 1 is scheduled for Friday, March 6.
  • In-class quiz 2 is scheduled for Friday, April 3.
  • In-class quiz 3 is scheduled for Friday, April 17.
  • In-class quiz 4 is scheduled for Friday, May 1.
